Dr. Jacek Lipowski - Chief Technology Officer / Founder

Dr Lipowski is responsible for the technology vision of the company including technology choices, product development and professional services. He created the Software Outsourcing initiative of the company using his well established and trusted relationships in Poland. Jacek is responsible for the design of the Tag.Connect software server and for the Real ID Systems consultancy services.

Jacek obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Silesian Technical University, Gliwice, Poland in 1980. His work experience has been in both pure computer technology research and with industry leaders in the Auto ID industry including Intermec, DataCap Corporation and Datavision.

In 1988 he co-founded Real Data Systems (RDS) that became the largest independent bar code / data collection solution provider in the Pacific North West with offices in Burnaby, Edmonton, Everett WA and Fife WA. Jacek was responsible for the company's overall technology and product vision, system architecture and software development methodology.

In 1998 RDS was acquired by Epic Data Inc., a world leader in turn-key data collection systems for discrete manufacturing. As Epic Data's Chief Technology Officer he was responsible for an overall technology and product vision of the company leading a transition from proprietary, closed technologies, to modern, open standards based software platforms.
